Congress’ ploy to cheat people exposed again, says T’gana BJP

The ruling Congress governments tactics of cheating has been exposed once again with the Cabinet deciding to extend Rs 500 bonus per quintal from the next Kharif season to farmers cultivating only fine rice instead of all varieties (Doddu rakalu), Bhartiya Janata Party official spokesperson NV Subhash said here.

In an official release, Subhash informed that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had promised to extend bonus for paddy cultivators without referring to its variety. Now, by limiting the bonus to fine variety is considered as equal to cheating the farming community as majority of the farmers in the State cultivate paddy varieties that are Doddu rakalu, he said.

Accusing the government of negligence, Subhash said, ‘farmers have incurred huge losses as the government failed to procure paddy during unseasonal rains. The government has failed to hold even a single review meeting on paddy procurement, and extend required assistance to the farming community. The government must clarify its stand on the bonus matter too.’

The BJP spokesperson also questioned the government for not extending Rs 15,000 to farmers, and Rs 12,000 to farm labourers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme.
